Makes complete sense

Thanks for a great video. It makes complete sense to go back to the source and fix that. You explained things in very simple layman terms for all to understand and the examples you used were easy to understand. Really good

Just to say thank you for the video - a really good and visual reminder of the explanations behind it all. My grandson is a Type 1 Diabetic, and we so nearly lost him at 17 months old - so I have come to appreciate just what a wonderful organ the pancreas is! He is now 12 and doing so well - says his Ceoliac is harder to deal with! Plus, it is so great to hear a NHS GP talk about health and medications as you do. I have avoided the NHS Doctors for years as I don't want 5 minutes and a pill - I want help to know how to work with and trust in the miracle that is the human body!

I am encouraged

Hi Nerys - I watched the 20 min reset video this afternoon. I am encouraged by the approach. I was prediabetic and undertook some research and have led a reduced carb, lower sugar and higher fat diet for a few months which reduced my prediabetes into high normal range. Sticking to this was difficult and I suspect my blood sugar is prediabetic range currently. I am trying to get back onto this menu / diet and pleased to hear that protein breakfasts are good. Looking forward to the rest of the 'reset videos'.

Reduce my sugar cravings

I have been looking for ways to reduce my sugar cravings and have always failed. The video on insulin resistance has given me inspiration to change my sugar habit - the picture of the door being shut on the (my) cells from too much sugar is now in my head and I plan to use that image when the craving hits. I will start the breakfast change from today. I look forward to your next video.

Explaining in clear terms

Hello! Thank you so much for explaining about insulin resistance in clear terms. The analogy of the bath water overflowing is very helpful. Being pre-diabetic & have been taking medication for a number of years now, this video has made me feel more positive about my future health.i look forward to watching the next video.

Hit home

I have watched all the videos. I’m currently attending an NHS pre diabetes prevention programme. And frankly, nothing in the first 5 sessions have hit home to make me feel motivated to make a change in lifestyle or diet. I’ve failed to lose weight long term previously, despite and I eat fairly healthily However your videos absolutely hit home in an inspiring way that made me think I can do this and I need to do this and now. I’m now not thinking ‘need to lose weight’. I’m telling myself I need to care for my pancreas. I’m sure the weight lose will follow.

My name is Dr Nerys Frater & I’m an NHS GP with a passion for helping people take control of their health using lifestyle medicine.

 

I founded The Lifestyle Clinic in 2018 after feeling frustrated with the lack of support for patients wanting to make positive changes to their lifestyle and who wanted to decrease the need for medication.

 

I’ve decided to host this event to give you the best head start in 2025. My main aim is to change perspectives and open your mind to other possibilities.
